On Mar. 10, 2009, the construction of popular science column “Time” in hall A of the China Digital Science and Technology Museum, undertaken by the National Time Service Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, passed successfully the acceptance review of the project experts group and was chosen as excellent works.

Basing on the Internet transmission, “China Digital Science and Technology Museum” is a national-level non-profit platform for publicizing popular science, co-constructed by the China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and 90 special exhibition halls will be set up, one of which is the popular science column “time”; this project was approved and initiated in Jan. 2008, with the National Time Service Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences as the responsible unit of undertaking and the Network Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences as the cooperative unit.

At the Expert Acceptance Meeting on Mar. 10, 2009, the expert group examined carefully the material of project acceptance and conducted inquiries and discussions on relevant problems. The result from the experts was that column “time” is specific in orientation, complete in knowledge system, reasonable in navigation setting, high in technological content and effective in the way of expression, therefore, it was considered as “excellent works” by the expert group.
