Recently, the researchers of the Timekeeping Lab and the Time Transmitting Station of the National Time Service Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly carried out a common view time comparison experiment between Lintong and Pucheng based on BeiDou navigation satellite system (BDS), with a time comparison precision of 1.5ns, focusing on the scientific and technological target of the National Time Service Center.
This experiment uses the self-developed BeiDou CGGTTS data processing software to obtain a high-precision time difference between two sides, UTC(NTSC) and Pucheng Time Transmitting Station, using the dual-frequency common view method. The results show that the time link based on BDS is continuous and reliable, which can meet the technical requirements of the BPL&BPM Time Transmitting Systems, and it can backup the existing time link between the Timekeeping System and the BPL&BPM Time Transmitting Station, thus ensuring the independent, reliable ,safe and stable operation of the BPL&BPM Time Transmitting Systems in China.
In recent years, the BPL&BPM Time Transmitting Systems has successively carried out key technology researches, such as the development and application of the primary atomic clock, the timekeeping of the domestic atomic clock, the optical fiber time transfer and the extended application of the BDS, which has added new vitality to the generation, maintenance and service of the national standard time.
