Abstract: Ranging codes are of significant importance in the GNSS. This paper introduces two performance analysis methods for the ranging codes of satellite navigation systems: the first method is based on the peaks of autocorrelation and crosscorrelation, and the second method is based on the Welch bound. And with the second method the ranging codes performance is analyzed from acquisition, tracking and anti-jam. A software based on these two methods is given, then the result of analysis of several GNSS ranging codes is given with the help of this software. This study can be used for reference in the related work.

Key words: GNSS; ranging codes; autocorrelation; crosscorrelation; Welch bound
