Abstract: Because of the slow convergence rate of the adaptive line enhancer based on the LMS (least mean square) algorithm, the adaptive line enhancer based on the FTF(fast transversal filter) algorithm are used in the Loran-C signal processing to filter the random noise. The result of the simulation shows that the adaptive line enhancer based on the FTF algorithm has the advantages of quick convergence and less mean square error, and could get over the shortcomings of LMS algorithm. It’s feasible to use the adaptive line enhancer based on the LMS algorithm for filtering the random noise in Loran-C signal.
