Abstract: A software has been established for real time easily monitoring the operation of the time keeping system at the National Time service center (NTSC), the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The time comparison data for the latest nearly one month are used in the data processing and a paper time scale “TA” on the bases of the weighted average of the clock data is obtained. The TA is used as a reference to monitor UTC(NTSC), UTC(JATC) and the running of the clocks. The curves of TA-UTC(NTSC), TA-UTC(JATC) and the rates of TA-clock(i) are displayed in the windows designed. People can easily press the command buttons in the windows to observe the running situation of the equipment. The BPL monitoring and controlling station at Pucheng, Shaanxi can obtain the time comparison data generated at NTSC through a local network. With this software running at BPL station at real time and taking TA as a reference, the rates of the atomic clocks at BPL station can be checked, the time signal of BPL working clock, T(PU), can be monitored and the frequency of T(PU) can be steered in order for T(PU) to synchronize to UTC(NTSC).
