Abstract: The pulsar timing residual is the difference between the observational TOA(time of arrival) and theoretical TOA. In this paper, the residuals fitting process of the Tempo2 timing software is analysed and the TOA data of PSR J0437-4715 are simulated, and furthermore the influence of the pulsar parameter errors on the pulsar timing residuals and the trend of the influence are studied. This study is helpful for improving the precision of timing model′s parameters and building a more accurate pulsar timing model.
