Design and Evaluation of “BD-1” System & GPS Combined Receiver Antenna for Special Environment

Abstract: In order to satisfy the need of “BD-1” system & GPS combined receiver for special environment, a combined receiver antenna has been designed. The combined antenna integrates the characteristics of both the FHA(four helix antenna) and the micro-stripe antenna of GPS, the space structure of the antenna is improved and the antenna possesses good electromagnetic compatibility. The simulation indicated that the polarization axial ratio and antenna gain pattern of this antenna are good for “BD-1” signal and GPS signal. Besides, this combined antenna showed fairly good characteristic in the tests conducted in the microwave darkroom and in the practical application.
