An Electronic System of External Cavity Semiconductor Diode Laser with Low Long-term Drift

Abstract: To drive a home-made 852 nm external cavity semiconductor diode laser(ECDL), an electronic system of ECDL with low frequency drift is designed. The laser diode is regulated by a temperature controller and a stabilized constant current source. And the external cavity length is regulated by another temperature controller and a constant voltage source with high voltage. By designing the driving circuits and choosing the components, the frequency drift of the ECDL is reduced to 15 MHz/h according to the test results.
