Qiao Rong-chuan is born in 1955, a research professor, a supervisor of Master’s postgraduate. He has been engaged in observation and theory study in the field of Celestial Mechanics and Astrometry. The current main research orientations are the theory of orbital motion and accurate positioning for artificial and natural bodies in Solar system. Qiao presided, joined and completed the 8 items of National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), currently as a person in charge he is studying accurate positioning and orbital determination of natural satellites.
Qiao participates in a key program of ‘knowledge innovation project-CAPS’ orbital determination of man-made satellites, and 863 and 973 related items. He has published more than 50 academic papers, more than 10 papers published in international important journal which have been collected into SCI. In 1991 Qiao went to China Antarctic Great Wall Station for scientific investigation. He won 2nd prize of natural science of Chinese Academy of Science and 7 other prizes in 1994, acquired 4 registered certifications of the software copy right from the national department of press and publication. In 1996, Qiao was awarded ‘Government Special Allowance Certificate’ by State Council due to his outstanding contributions to Chinese science.
