On May 26, Dr. Patrizia Tavella, a world famous time-frequency expert, started his 7-day visit in the NTSC at the invitation of Researcher Guo Ji, Director of our institute.

Dr. Patrizia Tavella is a researcher of IMGC, as well as the leader of International Atomic Time (TAI: International Atomic Time) Working Group under the International Consultative Committee of Time and Frequency (CCTF). The achievements made by the research group under her leadership in the field of Galileo time scale algorithm, GNSS time system and international time transfer are complimented by the international peers. Purpose of this visit is academic exchange, and Dr. Patrizia Tavella communicated widely with the time-frequency experts and postgraduates of our institute during the visit period. Thanks to the exchanges with her, the mass researchers of our institute had a timely knowledge of the latest research trend in the international time-frequency field, and they also had deep discussions on scientific issues of time and frequency that every one concerns.

Additionally, she discussed with our institute’s relevant leaders the matters regarding the cooperation between NTSC and IMGC in terms of joint cultivation of talents, academic exchange, etc.
