Shanghai Team of national meteorological summer camp went on a study tour in National Time Service Center of Chinese Academy of Science led by Xu Jianzhong, Secretary General of Shanghai Meteorological Society on July 07, 2013.

Dr. Yuan Haibo from Reference Laboratory of National Time Service Center took charge of the entire reception. Dr. Yuan explained the development history of timing technology to students, which covered information from sundial & hourglass to atomic frequency standard as well as from morning bell & evening drum to Beidou Timing. Meanwhile, Dr. Yuan displayed the latest scientific and technological achievements in the field of time frequency of China and described the systematic frame of time frequency service in the future. The students had a more particular knowledge of the importance of time service through the tour in National Time Service Center. In addition, this tour also aroused their interest in time frequency science and their enthusiasm for national scientific undertakings.
