Dr. Felicitas Arias, Director of Time Ministry, BIPM, visited NTSC for academic exchange during September 1-3, 2012.

Dr. Arias visited the punctual clock room and two-way satellite ground station, and had an in-depth discussion with related researchers from the NTSC on such topics as punctuality, two-way satellite comparison, etc. Dr. Arias affirmed the time-frequency work of the NTSC and offered some suggestions.

Time Ministry of BIPM is responsible for the reduction of International Atomic Time (TAI) as well as the generation and maintenance of Universal Time Coordinated (UTC). It is the global coordination center for universal time. The BIPM experts’ visits strengthened the cooperation between the NTSC and BIPM, which will further promote the development of the NTSC’s punctuality and two-way satellite comparison work.
