On the morning of July 23, 2011, Mr. Zhao Leiji, Secretary of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and his delegation visited NTSC for survey. All members of the leadership lineup of the Communist Party branch of the Center took part in the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Guo Ji, the President of Xi’an Branch of CAS and the Director of NTSC reported the Center’s history and research works on all major special tasks in fields including time frequency, atomic clock, navigating and positioning to Mr. Zhao Leji and his delegation. Mr. Zhao Leji expressed positively about all of the contents, and asked several questions on aspect of time with interest.

After that, Mr. Zhao Leji and his delegation visited the Time-frequency Standard Lab of NTSC, Quantum Frequency Standard Lab, Two-Way Satellite Time Transfer Lab, Satellite Timing Transfer System Lab and other laboratories with company of Mr. Guo Ji as well as the Party and government leaders of the Center. Everywhere they went, Mr. Zhao would shake hands with the operators in charge, and have a cordial talk with the scientific research staffs.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Zhao said that years before the NTSC was in charge of the keeping and broadcasting of Beijing time, now with the research of time and frequency, navigating and positioning and other aspects, it is undertaking major special tasks of China. He also pointed out that it is necessary to strengthen the publicity of the Center and technical cooperation of Shaanxi Province.
