In Oct., 2009, Marine Monitoring & Forecasting Center of Zhejiang Province began to cooperate with NTSC, who is responsible for providing accurate time of sunrise and sunset in such places of Zhejiang Province as Putuo, Shengsi Islands, Xiangshan Mountain, Dongtou Islands and Nanji Islands for free. And Marine Monitoring & Forecasting Center of Zhejiang Province is in charge of offering the socially useful time service to the public through participation in the program of marine forecasting. Such service receives good reputation from the public and visitors upon its provision.

Therefore, the NTSC takes it as a proper opportunity to continuously expand the fields for socially useful time service and provides moonrise and moonset time, tidal time and other time information resources in succession as a social service for the public through various media such as network, television and newspaper, so as to achieve its consistent purpose of strictly providing time for the public and serving the public.
