Recently, CAS announced the list of prize-winners of Wang Kuancheng Talent Award of CAS 2010. Lu Xiaochun and Yang Xuhai from NTSC won “Wang Kuancheng Award for Western Scholar with Outstanding Contribution” 2010 .

As the Director of Navigation and Communication Lab of NTSC and doctoral supervisor, Researcher Lu Xiaochun devoted herself mainly to the design and research of satellite navigation and positioning system, published many academic essays in domestic and foreign journals, took charge of 863 Program and Projects of Natural Science Foundation, and launched international cooperation and exchanges on satellite navigation compatibility and interoperability on behalf of China, awarded the title of “Outstanding Youth” by Shaanxi Xi’an Branch Academy of Sciences of CAS 2007.

As the Director of Orbit and Time Transfer Lab of NTSC and doctorial supervisor, Researcher Yang Xuhai devoted himself to the research of Bidirectional Satellite Time Frequency Transfer and Orbit Measuring, headed the projects of China’s 863 Program, published over 20 academic essays in domestic and foreign journals, and obtained several patents of invention.

“CAS Wang Kuancheng Award for Western Scholar with Outstanding Contribution” aims at encouraging western scholars who took root in the West China and made great achievements in the scientific and technical innovation, and young technicians who have preferred potentials and strong innovation ability and reaped great achievements in scientific & technical innovation and industrialized work. This year, 20 persons in all were bestowed with the award.
