Recently, Key Laboratory on Precision Navigation Positioning and Timing Technology Was Approved by China Academy of Sciences and established officially with National Time Service Center (NTSC) as its supporting unit

NTSC has comprehensive advantages in scientific research and high-tech research and development of time frequency. For many years, it has been expanding in satellite navigation field with time frequency as its support and has been conducting distinctive and innovative breakthrough research based on long-time accumulated time frequency technology and achievements. The establishment of this key laboratory has great significance to the improvement of the navigation field, especially the satellite navigation system research and the development of navigation industry of our country.

This laboratory has undertaken such important projects as national 973 & 863, Academy’s significant and important directive projects in succession in the recent years. As the main R&D strength, it participated in the development and construction of “China Area Positioning System CAPS” and has obtained excellent scientific and research achievements. Moreover, the laboratory pays special attention to cultivating and attracting outstanding scientific and technology youth talents through projects and has formed a sound-structured scientific research team with great coordination spirit and strong innovation strength.

The establishment of the laboratory is in accordance with the overall subject layout and research institute orientation of China Academy of Sciences, and it will definitely play an important role in the development of navigation positioning and timing subjects.
