Speaker: Prof. Zhu Xingjiang

Abstract: In recent years, several major pulsar timing array research teams worldwide have announced the discovery of strong evidence for the existence of the nanohertz gravitational wave background. This signal is believed to possibly originate from the accretion systems of supermassive binary black holes formed during galaxy mergers. This report will summarize the latest developments and prospects of nanohertz gravitational wave astronomy.
