The project “Application of Millisecond-Pulsar Timing” received funds for International Cooperation and Exchange of the National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) of China in November, 2010.

The project is a collaborative work between National Time Service Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NTSC, CAS) represented by Prof. CHEN Ding and Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF) represented by Dr. George Hobbs.

The two sides have carried out long-term cooperation in the fields of pulsar navigation, high-precision pulsar astrometry, and second-pulsar timing and time scales. The project will further their cooperation and promote the application of pulsar timing and navigation.

Being an outstanding young astronomers engaged in pulsar timing observation, Dr. Hobbs has been awarded a fellowship for Young International Scientists of CAS in 2010.
