In the afternoon of Apr. 29, Xi’an Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Provincial Academy of Sciences of Shaanxi held the Third Commendation Meeting for Commending the Outstanding (Excellent) Youth, at which, Comrades Lu Xiaochun and Wu Jun of our center was awarded respectively as “Outstanding Youth” and “Excellent Youth” of the Xi’an Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Provincial Academy of Sciences in Shaanxi, whose leaders of the Party and the government, Wang Yulin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our center and were invited to the meeting, and more than 240 comrades from the organization attended the meeting.
Presided over by Shen Maocai, Deputy Chairman, the Commendation Meeting was officially started with the magnificent national anthem. Soon after, Lǚ Jiancheng, Deputy Chairman, read the decision on commending for the third time “Outstanding (Excellent) Youth of Xi’an Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Provincial Academy of Sciences in Shaanxi” selected. With the entire audience's warm applause, leaders from the Xi’an Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Provincial Academy of Sciences in Shaanxi and all Institutes issued honorary certificate to the award-winners and taken photos with them.
Secretary Zhoujie addressed the Commendation Meeting on behalf of the Leading Party Group of the Xi’an Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Provincial Academy of Sciences and expressed his congratulations to those award-winners in the first place. He pointed out soon after that the vast masses of young people were a group of fresh troops for the socialist development; the progress of our country and the project of knowledge innovation of Chinese Academy of Sciences call for large quantities of excellent young people characterized by being ambitious, brave in innovation, hardworking, and willing to devote and contribute. He also urged all the young people in the academy to learn from these honored outstanding (excellent) youths, basing themselves upon their posts, serving earnestly the society, making contributions to and creating new achievements in the development of national science and technology.
