In June 2008, National Time Service Center (NTSC), the Chinese Academy of Science accepted the relative research mission for 25th Scientific Expedition and Research in Antarctic. The mission included developing some parts of timing facilities in satellite navigation system, high precision time transfer and orbit detection. After the mission was issued, the relative people research and design elaborately, and passed the accreditation in September after strict test,
On October 18, led by the associate director, Dou Zhong, in NTSC, the research team member, Li Zhigang, Yang Xuhai, He Zhanke, Gong Jianjun, Li Weichao, and etc, had all facilities delivered to Shanghai, and transferred to the team for Scientific Expedition and Research in Antarctic. On October 20 morning, the ship “Xuelonghao” carrying all facilities and members of 25th for Scientific Expedition and Research in Antarctic set sail. According to the plan, the expedition and research team will arrive at the station in South pole in the end of November 2008. In January 2009, the system construction will be finished and put into operation.
